According to the data extracted from the Joomla installation statistics, available from https://developer.joomla.org/stats/, at the moment approximately 2.2 percent or 68K of 3.1M Joomla websites already use MySQL 8.0 and above.most if not all shared hosting companies are still on MySQL 5
